A human pharmacokinetic study reported a terminal half-life range of approximately 0.8 to 1.7 hours after subcutaneous exposure; the calculator uses one hour as a representative scalar.
One hour is a modeling simplification inside the published range. It is not a universal constant and must not be transferred to the Scenesse implant or used as scheduling guidance.

Melanotan I, abbreviated MT-1 or MT-I, is the historical research name for afamelanotide. It is a synthetic tridecapeptide derived from alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone research, with amino-acid substitutions designed to alter melanocortin activity and peptide behavior.
