Epithalon (also known as Epitalon or the AEDG peptide) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. It was developed as a synthetic analogue of a peptide fraction isolated from the pineal gland and has become one of the most frequently referenced compounds in telomere and longevity research. Bergdorf Bioscience supplies Epithalon at 10mg per vial as a reference material for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory studies.
Most of the published work on Epithalon originates from the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, where investigators reported that the peptide can reactivate the catalytic subunit of telomerase (hTERT) in telomerase-negative human cell lines. In cell-culture models this has been associated with telomere elongation and continued cell division beyond the Hayflick limit. Later studies explored its role in pineal melatonin biosynthesis and in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression.
Epithalon is a small, unmodified linear tetrapeptide. It contains no D-amino acids, cyclic constraints, or N-methylations, so in solution it is expected to be rapidly hydrolysed by plasma and tissue peptidases. No formal pharmacokinetic study has quantified its systemic half-life.
Bergdorf Bioscience offers Epithalon (code ET10) at 10mg per vial as a research-grade reference standard. Every batch is supplied for laboratory research use only and is accompanied by analytical documentation so that researchers can verify identity and purity before use.
Reconstitution and handling should follow standard laboratory practice for lyophilised peptides; all storage and dilution decisions remain the responsibility of the qualified researcher.
Bergdorf Bioscience ships Epithalon worldwide with discreet, temperature-conscious packaging. Orders are processed promptly and tracking is provided, so research teams can plan their experimental timelines with confidence.
Synthetic pineal tetrapeptide (AEDG). In research it reactivates hTERT/telomerase to elongate telomeres, binds the TERT-promoter region and linker histones H1.3/H1.6, and upregulates AANAT-driven melatonin synthesis.

Advanced protocol
Published research protocols (in-vitro and animal models) administer Epithalon reconstituted in bacteriostatic or sterile water across short cyclic courses (research context). Provided strictly for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory research, not for human consumption; no human dosing guidance is given.
Note: The dosages listed correspond to typical ranges from published research literature. They do not replace advice from a qualified researcher or physician.
Every batch is analyzed by an independent laboratory via HPLC before shipment. We document purity (avg. 99.43% in 2026), mass spectrometry identity, and sterility. Production follows GMP standards in ISO-certified laboratories.
All our peptides meet a minimum purity standard of ≥99%, verified through HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis. Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) are available on request.
Store as lyophilized powder at -20°C for long-term stability. Once reconstituted, keep at 4°C and use within a few days. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping typically takes 5–8 business days in total. All orders include tracking.
Yes. Batch-specific CoAs can document purity, identity, and test results from independent laboratories. They are provided upon request.
There is no entitlement to free returns. In exceptional cases we may review a goodwill solution within 14 days of receipt—please contact support first.
